Letter Culture was built by three friends who spent over 15 years on the inside of the jacket trade supplying wholesale orders to vendors, outfitting sports teams, working school programs across every season, and coordinating orders for events, leagues and organizations of every size. We knew this industry from every angle. We knew the materials, the suppliers, the price points and the margins.
And we kept seeing the same problem, year after year, order after order.

After 15 years in the jacket trade, we had seen every corner of this market. And what we kept observing was a split that nobody was fixing.
On one side: cheap varsity jackets. Mass-produced on factory lines with wool blends that lose structure after a semester, synthetic sleeves that crack and peel, chenille patches that fade or separate. Students paying real money for something that looked and felt nothing like the jacket a varsity athlete deserves to wear.
On the other side: premium brands charging prices that placed a proper letterman jacket out of reach for the middle-class student, the state school athlete, the coach working a team budget. The jacket that is supposed to symbolize achievement had become something only certain people could access.
